How crypto payment works
- 01
Brief & contract
Tell us the destination, dates and party size. We send a charter agreement priced in EUR or USD — identical to a bank-transfer booking.
- 02
Crypto invoice
We issue an invoice with the crypto amount locked at spot for 30 minutes. Pay from any wallet — Ledger, Trezor, exchange, custodial or self-hosted.
- 03
On-chain confirmation
Once the required confirmations clear, the booking is locked in our PMS and the captain is briefed. APA top-ups during the charter follow the same flow.
Why clients pay for yachts in crypto
Cross-border without friction
A USD or EUR bank wire from Dubai, Singapore or the Cayman Islands can take 3–5 days and trigger compliance holds. A Bitcoin or USDT transfer settles in minutes.
No FX layer
Settle USDC against a USD-denominated contract or BTC against EUR at a locked spot rate. You see the exact amount before you sign — no surprise FX margin.
Discreet, not anonymous
Blue Ocean Club is regulated. We complete the minimum required KYC and AML checks, then the on-chain settlement details stay between you and us.
Real on-chain treasury
We hold settlements with a regulated custodian. Refunds, owner-share payouts and OTC conversions all run through that desk — no improvised wallets.
Crypto yacht charter FAQ
- Can I pay for a yacht charter with Bitcoin?
- Yes. Blue Ocean Club accepts Bitcoin (BTC) for the full charter fee, the 50% deposit, the 50% balance, and the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance). On-chain settlement is confirmed before the captain's brief.
- Which cryptocurrencies are accepted for yacht charter payment?
- We accept Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero, USDT, USDC, Litecoin, Ripple, Cardano, Solana and Polkadot. Other top-100 assets can be settled on request through our regulated OTC partner.
- Is paying for a yacht charter in crypto private?
- Settlement is on-chain and discreet. We still complete light-touch KYC for AML compliance (charter brokerage is a regulated activity in the EU and the UK), but transaction details are never shared with third parties.
- What is the price quoted in — EUR, USD, or crypto?
- All charter contracts are denominated in EUR or USD. The crypto amount is locked at the spot rate at the moment of invoice and held for 30 minutes; if the network is slow we re-quote rather than absorb volatility silently.
- Do you accept stablecoins for the APA?
- Yes — USDT and USDC on Ethereum, Solana, Tron and Polygon are the preferred rails for the APA because they avoid intra-week volatility while the captain settles fuel, berthing and provisioning ashore.
- Will I be charged a premium for paying in Bitcoin?
- No. There is no crypto surcharge. You pay the network fee on your side; we pay any conversion or custody fee on ours. The published charter price holds.
