The yacht that changes the map
Adventure is not an add-on. It is the architecture.
LA DATCHA was conceived around a different question from the conventional superyacht: not simply how beautifully can 12 guests travel, but how far can their curiosity go? The answer is a 76.9-metre Damen SeaXplorer shaped for polar water, remote coastlines and long periods beyond the familiar marina circuit.
Delivered in 2020, she combines Damen Yachting naval architecture with exterior design by Azure Yacht Design and interiors by Vasiliy Shprits. The result is not a rugged ship with luxury placed on top. It is a coherent private basecamp in which serious expedition capability and restorative comfort were developed together.
BOAT International documented how the original concept expanded as the brief grew: first to accommodate two helicopters, then again for diving, a submersible and a broader watersports programme. That origin still explains the yacht better than any list of amenities. LA DATCHA became larger because the experience became more ambitious.
Charter management sits with NOVA YACHTS — the manager, owner's representative and central agent (https://www.nova-yachts.com). Blue Ocean Club confirms availability, programme and packages with them for every enquiry.

01 · Polar capability
Polar capability. Comfort intact.
LA DATCHA is an Ice Class 1C expedition yacht built to IMO Polar Code requirements. Her Damen Xplorer platform was engineered for high-latitude operations while retaining the volume, privacy and quiet rhythm expected of a 77-metre charter yacht.
This is precision language: she is an ice-class yacht, not described here as an icebreaker. Route planning, ice conditions and any specialist expedition support remain matters for the captain and the programme arranged for each voyage.

02 · Air operations
Helicopter operations, engineered in.
A certified primary helideck, a second standby deck and an enclosed hangar form a rare piece of expedition infrastructure. Together they were designed to support two aircraft and to make the yacht a practical launch point for mountain, ice and remote-shore experiences.
The decks and hangar are part of the yacht. Helicopters, pilots, permits and the operating package are arranged in advance for a specific charter; they should never be assumed to be included in the published weekly rate.

03 · Below the surface
Submersible exploration. A horizon below the surface.
The expedition brief extends beneath the waterline. LA DATCHA was created around a three-person Triton submersible programme, supported by a certified dive centre and an on-board decompression chamber — equipment intended to turn observation into genuine exploration.
Published expedition material identifies the yacht's three-person Triton 1650 submersible as depth-rated to 500 metres. Current charter material offers the submersible as an advance-arranged package, subject to itinerary, permissions and availability.

04 · Extended autonomy
Extended autonomy. Forty days from the familiar.
Official LA DATCHA and builder material state autonomy of up to 40 days. That changes the tempo of a charter: fewer interruptions, more freedom to wait for the right weather window, and the possibility of building a journey around nature rather than around the next provisioning stop.
Forward observation spaces, increased fuel and provisions, and bridge-wing visibility for ice navigation reflect an expedition-first design brief. Day-to-day management, owner's representation and central agency sit with NOVA YACHTS (https://www.nova-yachts.com).
Interiors by Vasiliy Shprits
LA DATCHA interiors: a private residence at the edge of the world
Inside, the visual language changes from technical assurance to warmth. BOAT International describes natural oak, leather, bronze, marble, onyx, stone mosaics and wool, with references to water, earth and fire. It is a tactile palette designed to feel grounded when the landscape outside is immense.
The observation lounge is the hinge between those worlds: a sheltered place to watch ice, weather and wildlife without stepping away from the expedition. Social rooms feel residential rather than ceremonial, allowing a group to gather generously or withdraw without losing connection to the view.

Six suites · 12 guests
Six suites. Two owner suites. More freedom to share.
LA DATCHA accommodates 12 guests in six suites. Her current charter brochure places a master suite and a convertible king-or-twin VIP suite on the upper deck. A second, full-beam master suite faces forward on the main deck, joined by three further suites that can be arranged as doubles or twins.
Both master suites have private lounges, while every guest suite has an en-suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe. It is an unusually flexible plan for two families, several generations or a group whose guests do not all want the same cabin configuration.
- Two master suites with private lounges
- Upper-deck VIP convertible between king and twin
- Three further convertible double or twin suites
- Six guest suites in total
- Up to 12 overnight guests
- En-suite bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes in all six suites
Recovery, considered
LA DATCHA wellness, from the ice to the hammam
A demanding day ashore or below the surface is answered by an unusually complete wellness programme. The indoor spa pool, Finnish sauna, hammam, ice fountain, massage room and sea-view gym create a deliberate transition from expedition intensity to stillness; an outdoor hot tub returns the experience to the landscape.

LA DATCHA expedition equipment: sky, coast and subsea
The helideck, hangar, dive centre, decompression chamber and tender-handling infrastructure are built in. Aircraft and submersible packages, specialist personnel and the current toy inventory are confirmed for each charter through NOVA YACHTS, the manager, owner's representative and central agent (https://www.nova-yachts.com). A polar expedition, tropical dive charter and heli-ski programme do not require the same operating package.

Dimension 1
Sky
A certified primary helideck, second standby deck and covered hangars designed around two-aircraft operations.

Dimension 2
Coast
An 8.5-metre Fassmer limousine, Insider dive-support RIB, 8.5-metre beach lander and two Zodiac MilPro inflatables support repeated coastal access.

Dimension 3
Subsea
A certified dive centre, decompression chamber and support for a three-person Triton submersible package.
Aircraft, submersible operations, specialist guides and the current toy inventory are confirmed for the requested dates and may carry separate costs, permits and operating conditions.

LA DATCHA is Blue Ocean Club's overall Charter Yacht of the Year 2026 and winner of Best Charter Yacht 70m+. The distinction recognises a yacht whose scale serves a clear purpose: giving a charter party the freedom to move from serious exploration to genuine sanctuary without changing platforms.
Her industry recognition began earlier. At the 2021 World Superyacht Awards, LA DATCHA received the Judges' Special Award after the judges unanimously recognised how completely she fulfilled a unique vision of yachting.
