The prevailing wind is the maestral, a reliable north-westerly breeze that typically develops in the afternoon. Early and late season can experience occasional southerly winds, which may affect anchorage conditions.

- Tivat (TIV) is the primary airport, located 10 minutes from Porto Montenegro; Podgorica (TGD) and Dubrovnik (DBV) are alternatives, with Dubrovnik being a one-hour drive plus border crossing.
- Vessels entering Montenegrin waters must complete formal check-in procedures at designated ports of entry before proceeding to other anchorages.
- Cruising permits and tourist taxes are mandatory for all charter yachts and are payable to the local harbour master's office.
