Joey grew up in the UK and has been on or around the ocean his entire life. After completing a boat-building apprenticeship, he pursued a career in the superyacht industry, a path that has taken him around the world, from the South Pacific to the Mediterranean. Don’t let the engine room fool you, at heart, Joey is a true watersports man. A world sailing race winner (ask him to show you the photos, they’re incredible), he has sailed around Thailand with a member of Nirvana, knows every lyric to Smells Like Teen Spirit, and even plays the harmonica. He’s also an avid scuba diver with over 300 dives under his belt, having explored dive sites across the globe. Blending the technical brain of an engineer, the fitness of a watersports athlete, and the creativity of a musician, Joe brings energy, skill, and passion to everything he does onboard. When he’s off watch, you’ll likely find him running, sailing, scuba diving, or fishing, preferably somewhere with a good breeze and an even better view.

About the yacht

About WANDERLUST

Description as supplied.

A new secret weapon has been launched onto the charter market - the 85.3m WANDERLUST. The philosophy behind this extraordinary sports activity vessel (SAV) is the innovative balance of performance, luxury and efficiency.

WANDERLUST is a superb platform for scuba diving and snorkelling, tailor-made for avid lovers of the underwater world, so expect to find her cruising world-class dive locations like the Indian Ocean and South Pacific. Guests are guaranteed to enjoy bountiful, healthy reefs, abundant marine life and bucket-list pelagics.

In performance terms, her hydrodynamic efficiency and state-of-the-art propulsion system means she cruises easily at 17 knots and tops out at 23 knots. This expands your cruising range and dive-site options considerably while keeping fuel bills and emission down. Her zero speed stabilisers mean everyone on board enjoys a steady horizon.

One of the most remarkable features of this yacht and the widest part of it: The Loft. This is a winter garden space with floor-to-ceiling privacy glass that slides away to create a remarkable open-air shaded terrace.

It’s aft of the high-ceiling sky lounge with huge screen on which guests can enjoy sports, movie nights and highlights of the day's filmed adventures. The ceiling itself is a huge screen, like those in The Loft and the heli-hangar, that can display any image or video you want - you can even bring the Northern Lights inside should you wish.

Another signature is the 400sqm (4,300sqft) aft deck - the space is over 30m (100ft) long. This is where two of the yacht’s three tenders, a 7m (23ft) beachlander and an 8.3m (27.2ft) Explorer, are stowed. The third is a Windy SR52 chase tender capable of 45 knots.

The sides of the aft deck fold down to open up the views completely and create even more versatile space for entertainment, relaxation and games like basketball, table tennis or a golf driving range with fish-food balls.

Built to deliver the holiday of a lifetime for up to 12 guests in eight suites, she has everything an amazing charter yacht needs. The sun deck has a glass-fronted jacuzzi and an intimate, sheltered open-air dining space aft.

The upper deck offers more outdoor dining with a bar and BBQ for that chef’s table experience and a huge sun lounge aft. On the main deck there’s an outdoor cinema in the hangar, one of three on board, which is also fitted with sound, media and light systems for disco nights.

Her crew is dedicated to making every day on board amazing, with a particular flair for beach set-ups and watersports days. Zero speed stabilisers for comfort and a toy locker packed with Sea-Doos, SeaBobs, sailing dinghies, fliteboards, transparent kayaks, paddleboards and a host of tow toys, and you have an unbeatable package.

Who WANDERLUST suits

WANDERLUST is ideally tailored for private gatherings of 12 guests across 8 cabins, supported throughout each charter by a professional crew of 21. SilverYachts delivered her in 2022, followed by a refit in 2025, and at 85.3 m she provides an expansive setting for extended families and friends. Life on board transitions effortlessly between workouts in the gym and active afternoons on the water slide, before guests settle down for evening screenings in the movie theatre or celebrate together across the dance floor.

When assessed against similar yachts available in the Leeward Islands, she is longer overall, affording exceptional volume across her decks. She welcomes the same number of overnight guests as comparable options in the destination, yet she is newer in build year, which corresponds with her higher weekly rate.

The best time to charter her begins during the winter 2026 season, cruising the sheltered waters of the Caribbean, the Bahamas, the British Virgin Islands, and the Leeward Islands. Her summer 2027 calendar then focuses on the West Mediterranean and the East Mediterranean, allowing guests to explore scenic coastlines across Greece, the French Riviera, Corsica & Sardinia, and the Amalfi Coast.

Cruising the Leeward Islands: when to go and where to anchor

Best time

The primary charter season runs from December to April, marked by reliable north-easterly trade winds of 15 to 25 knots and minimal rainfall. Peak demand occurs during the festive period and regatta weeks. May brings lighter breezes and fewer yachts, while the official Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, during which charter operations are significantly reduced.

Practical tips

  • Fly into St Maarten (SXM) or Antigua (ANU); Simpson Bay marinas are 5–15 minutes from SXM, while English Harbour and Falmouth are 30–40 minutes from ANU.
  • Cruising between island nations requires clearing customs and immigration at designated ports of entry, with passports and ship documents presented by the yacht captain.
  • Provisioning is most extensive on St Maarten and Antigua, which have large supermarkets near key marinas, whereas smaller outlying islands have more restricted inventory.

Anchorages to know

  • Anse de Colombier, St Barts
A sheltered, uninhabited bay within the nature reserve featuring mooring buoys, clear water, and walking tracks to the headland.
  • English Harbour, Antigua
A deeply indented, historic harbour offering landlocked shelter, designated anchorages, and direct access to restored naval facilities.
  • Green Island, Antigua
An uninhabited island protected by an outer barrier reef, providing calm waters for tender use and water sports.
  • Simpson Bay, St Maarten
A broad roadstead anchorage and sheltered lagoon entrance providing well-protected holding and quick access to coastal services.
