What is included in a private yacht charter?

A crewed charter typically includes the yacht, professional crew, fuel for cruising (within reason), insurance and standard provisions. APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) covers food, drinks, fuel and dockage.

How many guests can charter a yacht?

Most charter yachts accommodate 8–12 guests overnight under MCA rules, with capacity for more during day cruises.

What is the difference between a motor yacht and a sailing yacht?

Motor yachts offer speed, space and stability. Sailing yachts (including catamarans) offer a quieter, more intimate experience under sail.

How far in advance should I book?

For peak summer in the Mediterranean and Christmas in the Caribbean, six to twelve months ahead is ideal. Off-peak and last-minute charters can often be arranged within weeks.

The Advance Provisioning Allowance is a deposit (usually 25–35% of the charter fee) used by the captain to pay for variable expenses on your behalf — fuel, food, drinks, marina fees. Any balance is returned at the end.
