La Maddalena's Idyllic Isles
The scent of wild juniper and salt hangs in the air as your yacht glides from Palau into the La Maddalena Archipelago. Granite islands, sculpted by the wind, rise from a sea of impossible turquoise, their shores fringed with powdery white sand. This is a sailor’s sanctuary, a protected marine park where the pace of life is dictated by the sun and the gentle lapping of waves against the hull, from the vibrant harbour of La Maddalena town to the secluded, pristine coves of Isola Spargi.

- DAY 01
Isola Spargi
Leaving Palau behind, the yacht makes the short crossing to Isola Spargi, an uninhabited granite jewel. The island’s coastline is a masterpiece of wind-sculpted rock formations, concealing a series of bays with startlingly clear water and fine white sand. Drop anchor in the celebrated Cala Corsara, a bay so beautiful it feels like a private discovery.
- Swim and snorkel in the turquoise waters of Cala Corsara
- Tender ashore to explore the bizarre granite tafoni formations
- Discover the neighbouring, equally lovely beach of Cala Soraya
- Enjoy sunset cocktails on the sundeck with views of the archipelago
- Anchorage
- Cala Corsara
- Dining
- Al fresco dinner on the aft deck, curated by your private chef.
- DAY 02
Isola Budelli & Isola Santa Maria
Cruise north to the legendary heart of the park, a natural lagoon known as Porto della Madonna. Cradled between the islands of Budelli, Razzoli, and Santa Maria, these shallow, incandescent waters are a spectacle of nature. From the yacht, you can admire Budelli’s protected Spiaggia Rosa, its famous pink sands a result of microscopic coral fragments.
- Anchor in the 'natural swimming pool' of Porto della Madonna
- View the protected, iconic pink sands of Spiaggia Rosa from the tender
- Tender to Isola Santa Maria for a walk and a seaside lunch
- Explore the dramatic coastline of neighbouring Isola Razzoli by paddleboard
- Anchorage
- Porto della Madonna
- Dining
- Ristorante La Casitta on Isola Santa Maria
- DAY 03
La Maddalena Town
A change of pace awaits as you moor in Cala Gavetta, the charming main harbour of La Maddalena island. The waterfront is a vibrant scene of pastel-coloured 18th-century buildings, bustling cafés, and elegant boutiques. Spend the afternoon wandering the narrow, paved 'caruggi' streets, soaking up the authentic island town atmosphere.
- Explore the historic centre and its narrow Genoese 'caruggi'
- Enjoy an evening aperitivo in the main square, Piazza Umberto I
- Shop for local crafts and designer goods in the town's boutiques
- Visit the Nino Lamboglia Naval Museum to delve into the island's maritime history
- Anchorage
- Marina di Cala Gavetta
- Dining
- Sottovento Ristorante
- DAY 04
Isola di Caprera
Connected to La Maddalena by a bridge, Caprera offers a wilder, more rugged experience, fragrant with pine and Mediterranean macchia. The island is a hiker's paradise and home to the celebrated Cala Coticcio, a cove so stunning it has been nicknamed 'Tahiti'. The water here is a mesmerising shade of pale aquamarine, set against dramatic pinkish rock.
- Swim in the famously beautiful waters of Cala Coticcio
- Visit the Compendio Garibaldino, the home and museum of Giuseppe Garibaldi
- Hike a section of the island's extensive network of trails
- Use the yacht's water toys in the sheltered bay of Cala Portese

Capo d'Orso
Enjoy a leisurely morning cruise, perhaps stopping at the historic Isola Santo Stefano, before heading back towards the Sardinian mainland. The destination for the evening is the iconic Capo d’Orso, where you will anchor beneath the Roccia dell’Orso. This monumental granite outcrop, weathered by millennia into the shape of a bear, glows in the golden light of sunset.
- Take a final swim in the archipelago's waters off Isola Santo Stefano
- Photograph the iconic bear-shaped Roccia dell'Orso from the yacht
- Enjoy the panoramic views of the entire archipelago from your anchorage
- Sip sundowners on deck as the sun sets behind the granite coast
